Working in Phrase
When you receive an assignment from us, you will receive a project link directing you to the relevant project.
On this page, you should login with the Phrase credentials provided to you by us. These credentials are shared in the Handoff e-mails, but please refer to the FTP file below if needed:
🗃️/Tableau/FromJTE/_References_/06_Memsource/Memsource_credentials.xlsx
Once you login, you will see two different options for you to see your work files.
Please always work under Projects view so you can open multiple files at once.
How to work on multiple files at once?
To work on “joined” files, please select 4-5 files under a project and click on any of the files to open the joined view. This is to make sure we maintain consistency and the repetitions are automatically inserted.
As you can see in the video, if you open files with more than 40,000 segments, an error message appears. There are two workarounds for this issue:
Select fewer files at one time to open as a joined file (as shown in the video).
Use the Phrase desktop editor, which is explained in the 📌Desktop Editor section below.
How to search in TM and TB?
In the far-right corner, you can see Translation Memory and Terminology Database matches.
Please use the “Search” tab on the right side for concordance search in the TM and use the QA tab to check and fix possible errors.
Clicking on the term will display additional information about it:
Please do not leave segment-based comments, e-mail us your questions or, preferably, use the Query Sheet.
How to work in Phrase Desktop Editor
If the web editor is too slow for you or if you like to work on the Desktop version, please follow the these steps:
Go to 🔗Phrase website and download/install the web editor following the instructions.
Go to the project link, tick all the files and download the “joined” bilingual MXLIFF file.
Choose “Join files” option to download a single, combined file.
Once you have the Phrase Desktop Editor installed, all you need to do to open the file is to double click on the downloaded MXLIFF file.
Please login in with your credentials so that you can have access to TM/TD
Please do not forget to upload your translations once in a while and one last time after you are done translating.
