Query Sheet
Our Query Sheet has proven to be an invaluable resource for linguists. It is very active and we try to reply to all queries the same day. You can raise a query if you need more context during translation, or if you come across any new terms and you're not sure how to translate them. You can also add a query when you spot a source issue (we report them to client who fixes the source) or you need to ask about placeholders, tags, plural tokens or any other UI elements.
❗Important:
When filing a query, please make sure to add the file name related to the string you are querying, so we can locate it easily.
Before filing a query, search for the string or parts of the string in the Query sheet - someone may have already filed a similar query before.

Query process:
Linguist files a query, adding all the necessary details
Language Analyst checks the query and replies, if she can, and sets the query as Resolved.
If linguist has a further question about LA's reply, they can update the query, starting with UPDATE: and set the query status to Pending. They can also use a different color so it's easier for LA to see. As an example of this, you can check the query in row 1511.
If Language Analyst cannot answer the query, she asks client and sets the query as Pending.
Most often, when filing query to client, it means the query is source related and often, the source requires updates on Tableau's side.
A, for UI tasks: if source needs updating, Tableau developers or content writers, depending on who is responsible for that particular string, update it on their end and hand it back in the next drop for our updates.
B, for UA tasks, the process is similar to UI, but may take a bit longer than for UI due to the nature of support articles.
