Consistency
Large volumes and tight deadlines mean that many projects are completed by a team of translators. So, it might happen that one project is divided between more translators. Software translation, however, requires consistency first and foremost. For example, when translator A translates the software and translator B translates the help files, all references to the running software translated by translator B in the help articles must exactly match the software translations that translator A has chosen. If the translation is inconsistent, it would mean the end user will get confused.
